Andy Chu is a recent graduate from USC where he earned his bachelor’s (2011) and master’s (2012) in Biomedical Engineering. Raised in NorCal, Andy spent his youth as a Boy Scout (and eventually as an Eagle Scout) taking advantage of the wonderful (and extremely diverse) hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking opportunities from the Santa Cruz Mountains to Angel Island in the middle of the Bay to Henry Coe State Park.
Andy is a founding member of SC Outfitters, having served on the executive board since the beginning. Over the years, he’s led many overnight and day trips, hopefully with each trip bestowing his participants a sense of wonder and excitement for the outdoors.
For him, being able to witness the dramatic change and growth of this organization in a mere couple of years has given him new faith in the promise of collective human endeavors. Now that he’s graduated, he’s excited to see where SC Outfitters will go in the future.
