Born and raised in Northern California, Ariel has known nothing less than a life outdoors. Some of her favorite childhood memories include sleeping under the milky way, swimming with horses and attending barefoot weddings in redwood forests. At a young age she became fascinated with film and photography and its power to evoke emotions within larger audiences. From these experiences she developed a passion for environmental preservation through film. Today she is a Film and Television Production major at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, with a focus in cinematography and documentary. Her interests in wilderness activism and film led her to spend a summer working and living in Yosemite National Park as a horseback guide/packer. Here, Ariel documented the life of the Wranglers of Yosemite Valley through photography, shedding light on a topic that the world knows little about. Since this experience Ariel strives to capture these hidden stories and the impacts they have on the environment. Ariel dreams of a career where she can combine her love for backpacking with her love of film and hopes to someday work for National Geographic Television or a studio whose focuses are in environmental conservation. Look out for trips lead by Ariel that involve film and adventure!
