Cate is a senior majoring in Political Science and Narrative Studies. A #dirtydena and LA native, she passed her suburban childhood reenacting Island of the Blue Dolphins on her #pasadangerous front lawn and listening to Endless Summer on repeat. Luckily, her family also has long ties to the Eastern Sierras, where she spent countless seasons hiking, fishing (reeling in her grandpa’s lines), hot sprangin’ and learning to ski (colliding with trees). In the true spirit of adventure, she ultimately ventured 20 minutes south (an hour in traffic) to USC and caught the Scoutfitters bug – now she’s clearly trapped.
Beyond the goldmine of California’s local hits, Cate’s recent outdoor adventures include the mythical Crater Lake, Argentinian Patagonia, and the wild n’ wonderful country roads of West Virginia. Indoors, she prefers chugging coffee, binge-watching D.C. political thrillers, and procrastination-cooking. Mint chocolate chip ice cream and a good book rec are the surefire ways to her heart.
