Go ahead and make as many puns with her name as you’d like- Chase is always looking for new and exciting ways to introduce herself as part of an ongoing identity experiment which also includes dressing up like superheroes, pretending to be an 85 year old Twilight Zone enthusiast, horse-whispering, and doing Bill Cosby impressions almost constantly. Born and raised on the mean streets of San Diego, California, she has always found solace in the great outdoors, spending her childhood camping, hiking, and being an overall beach bum. From swimming, snorkeling, knee-boarding, jet-skiing, spear fishing, white-water rafting, and (making pitiful attempts at) surfing, Chase holds a deep love for all things water and in fact believes that she is at least part mermaid.
Chase’s love for nature developed at a young age due to underappreciated visits to her ancestral home of Normal, Illinois (yes, this is a real place. Normal. Google map that ish), and was consolidated while she was a participant in the California State Junior Lifeguards Program for 4 burrito-filled summers. Since then, she has continued to expand her passion and knowledge of the outdoors and is an avid believer in the powers of travel and adventure. Her bucket list includes (but is not limited to) skydiving, riding a horse across the Mongolian plains, learning to sail, riding a mechanical bull, getting her stunt person license, and having a bada** treehouse. If you like movies, GO TALK TO HER.
This is Chase’s second semester as an SCoutfitters guide, and she can’t wait to meet new people and get into as many schenanigans as humanly (and mermaidly) possible.
