Clay Danly’s (pictured bottom right) love for the wilderness began after the trip above, a 7th grade excursion to remove invasive buckthorn trees from a YMCA camp in Wisconsin. As you can see from the picture, this trip turned us younglings into savage, relentless, lumberjacks. And we never looked back.
While no longer as facey as he was in 2008 with the no-nonsense bowl-cut, Clay continues to pursue adventure on backpacking, canoeing, and dog sledding trips in parks ranging from The Ozarks to Yosemite.
Clay considers his specialty to be sailing, where he competed in 9 international countries for The U.S. National Team, as well as finished first in a 330 mile race from Lake Michigan to Mackinac Island this past summer. #sailingisfun
He is from Lake Bluff, Illinois and wants you to know that Chicago is the greatest city in the world.
