Marielle Olentine is a senior currently studying International Relations and Cinematic Arts at USC. She first discovered her love for nature exploring the beaches of Australia in her early years and later the woods of Stony Brook behind her family’s home in Princeton, New Jersey. She spent her youth building forts in the woods, camping with friends, and bouldering in the Gunks of New York.
After exploring the beauty of the temperate east coast, Marielle expanded her adventures to the West Coast where she joined SC Outfitters and has enjoyed the wonderful experiences and people she found there.
Marielle has been a guide with SC Outfitters since her sophomore year. In becoming a guide she hoped to share her love for nature and adventure with others, while giving other students a chance to build strong bonds and escape urban LA. Marielle has lead photo trips to Joshua Tree National Park as well as numerous day hikes to Malibu State Park and the surrounding canyons.
Marielle spent this past semester in Paris, backpacking through Europe and hiking the beautiful coastlines of Italy and the South of France.
SC Outfitters is one of the most important parts of Marielle’s life in LA. The guides are like a family away from home who share a common love for nature and exploring the outdoors. She love SC Outfitters because it gives her a chance to meet amazing new people with every trip she leads and bring a little adventure to the USC community.
