Michelle Lim is a junior pursuing a double B.A. in Interdisciplinary Archaeology and Narrative Studies. She hails from New York City, which despite being the concrete jungle where dreams are made, happens to lie in close proximity to the many gorgeous landscapes of the northeast Appalachians (where adventures are made). Growing up, she and her family had lots of fun hiking, camping, snowboarding, rock climbing, white water rafting, and mountain biking all across the region, from Delaware to Vermont.
Michelle also spent summers exploring the natural world abroad in Bolivia, Brazil, Belize, and Guatemala. It was in Central and South America that her passion for the outdoors converged with her passion for the great civilizations of antiquity, the remnants of which are often absorbed back into the natural environment and integrated within it to tell the story of our past. This summer, she had the chance to trek through fields, hike up mountains, and rappel down into a sinkhole cave while searching for and documenting ancient sites in south central Turkey. Back in south central Los Angeles, she hopes to share her love of the outdoors with the rest of the USC community as a new SC Outfitters guide.
SC Outfitters with its community of guides and members has been a source of adventure, inspiration, and great times for Michelle and she looks forward to sharing this experience with you!
