Patrick Corrigan grew up in the heart of the Willamette Valley, in the city of Corvallis, Oregon. This college town is best described as a blend of STEM industry and Portlandia-esque environmentalism. Most of the money comes from the university (go Beav’s) or the local Hewlett Packard plant, and most of it goes into bike paths, farmers markets, and handmade sandals. The valley is bounded on the eastern side by the Cascade Range, which is full of forests, lakes, and killer slopes, and on the western side by the Oregon Coast Range, which has an annual rainfall of two or three yards.
Nineteen years in this town turned Patrick into a slope-slaying and granola-munching engineer. Soccer and ski racing were his high school sports of choice, and he’s always down for a pick up game or a day at the mountain. He first turned to SC Outfitters to get a chance to see what SoCal had tucked away outside the city, but applied to be a guide when he realized he could be a part of something rad.
