Our mission at SC Outfitters is to offer only the best in outdoor adventuring. We believe that a large part of that is to make sure you have the best experience both during your trip, and the preparation leading up to it.
After you have made a purchase with SC Outfitters, should something come up, please note that we will abide by our posted policies below.
Now, we know things come up; projects need finishing, papers suddenly are due. We’re students too and we understand. If you have a concern, please ask your guide first. They’ll be more than happy to see if we can accomodate you in any way.

Overnight & Day Trips
In order to request a refund, the participant should contact the guide for that trip by phone or by email from the email addressed used to sign up for that trip at least 5 days before that trip departs.
After the participant has communicated their refund request, the guides for that trip, as a courtesy service, will attempt to find a substitute for the reserved spot from the wait list for that trip.
If a substitute is found, a full refund will be returned to the original participant. The refund will be administered and processed through the payment system used for the original transaction and will typically result with a credit back to the payment option within 1-2 business days.
If the transaction was made with cash, a full refund will be returned to the original participant via check that will be made available for pickup at our Will Call table at the next Membership Meeting.
If a substitute is not found, a refund will not be granted and the trip reservation will be considered forfeit.
Should the guides offering the trip cancel the trip, either due to low interest or factors beyond our control, all participants will be granted a full refund. Any and all transaction fees will be fully returned by SC Outfitters.
No full refund will be given after a third SC Outfitters event. An SC Outfitters event is defined as a monthly membership meeting, a day trip, an overnight trip, or a membership event.
All refund requests must be communicated to us via our contact page using the email address associated with the membership account.
- any remaining trip reservations made during the membership period will be canceled and automatically reschedule to when the trip is open to the general USC community
- the value of any t-shirts received will be deducted from the refunded amount
If the refund request has been received and completed before the deadline, a full refund minus any amount outlined above will be issued.
No more than 1 refund will be issued per person per semester.
