Start: 10/06/2017 End:10/08/2017
Difficulty: Moderate; but temps will be cold at night so be prepared!
Join us in the Inyo wilderness and relieve some midterm stress if you’re done with your exams. Or if you’re not done, come stress in the mountains instead of Leavey!!!
We’ll be heading out early Friday to the 20 lakes basin on the border of Yosemite and Inyo, and spending some time backpacking there before joining the rest of the basecamp crew on Saturday. This will be a trip for the books because you get to meet everyone on your own individual trip, and hang out with the rest of the sco trips going out that weekend. We’ll all be meeting up in the beautiful Mammoth Lakes area on Saturday. Sunday will involve some hot springs (maybe) and the drive back to SC (with epic views of Whitney). We’re flexible on return time, and we’ll see how the group feels.
What you need to know for the backpacking portion: We’ll be spending one night under the stars in the high sierras so bring what you need for the night. The trail itself is not very difficult, and we’ll try to spread it out on Friday by chilling at every lake on the way. ~May or may not have some inflatable pool toys~ Saturday morning we’ll get up for sunrise and backpack out along the rest of the loop. There is some snow in the area because we’ll be at a high elevation, and temps will drop below 32 at night, so be prepared for that. The rest of the weekend will be very easy and we’ll be car camping. Price includes transportation and food for the weekend, but bring your own breakfast Friday morning or some cash to get breakfast on the drive up.
If you have any questions, shoot us an email!
