Difficulty: Moderate. Trekking through snow.
This is a great trip for your first time snowshoeing! We’re driving about 2 hours outside LA to snowy Big Bear. If there’s enough snow, we will be hiking the Pine Knot Trail all the way up to Grand View Point, which is about 6 miles round trip. That may not sound like much, but it’s a bit more difficult in the snow. Along the trail, there will be amazing views of Big Bear Lake, so bring a camera! If it turns out there’s not as much snow, we’ll take a different trail like maybe Mill Creek Road or Sugarloaf Trail. So cross your fingers that between now and then, the sky dumps out a whole bunch of snow!!!
