In May of 2015, two SC Outfitters guides led a band of participants on a bold quest to free the restless ghost of Lord Baden Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts Association, atop the mountain bearing his name. After bravely confronting the specter at the summit, he was freed from the terrestrial prison he haunted for decades and entered into his eternal rest. However, before passing on to the next life, Lord Baden Powell made one last request to the loyal SC Outfitters: free the cursed ghosts of Eagle Scouts past.
Join an Eagle Scout, Conner Plant, and a Girl Scout tagalog cookie connoisseur, Eva Nofri, as they confront numerous ghosts on the Boy Scout Trail in Joshua Tree National Park. The Boy Scout trail features a wide variety of terrain, ranging from massive desert washes, to monolithic granite outcroppings, to rugged canyons. Everytrail.com describes the trail as a place where “playas, alluvial fans, bajadas, desert varnish, igneous and metamorphic rocks interact to form a pattern of stark beauty and ever changing complexity.”
As an out and back trail, participants will hike one way on Friday afternoon before camping for the night, then return back the other way on Saturday morning for a total of 16 miles. Stargazing in Joshua Tree is unparalleled in Southern California, as is the range of natural beauty, so prepare to be aMaZeD.
