I don’t know about you, but there are times when life can feel pretty dry. It’s time to splash things up!
Join us as we take to the San Juan Trail in search of not one, but TWO gorgeous waterfalls tucked away in the wilderness of eastern Orange County. ALONG THE WAY we’ll encounter shady oak groves, a wet creek crossing, and panoramic views atop an exposed ridge – for a total out and back of 9 miles / 2,900 ft in elevation gain. Note: This is a strenuous hike with plenty of uphill marching. That being said, it’s a really fun hike and perfectly doable if you’ve got the determination.
PLUS, upon returning to the trailhead, ye shall be thoroughly rewarded by the sweet charms of Ortega Oaks Candy Store – “the store that time forgot” – where you can indulge in homemade fudge, lollipops as big as your face, or a post hike burger from the grill.
