Start: 02/18/2012 End:02/20/2012
Activity: Biking, Desert Oggling, Car Camping, Trekking and Scarmbling
Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous. Beginners are more than welcome, but this is a desert.
Come biking with SC Outfitters in Death Valley National Park, consisting of beautiful views, stunning basalt flats, leisurely sand dunes, the lowest point in the U.S., and guaranteed good weather as we cruise around in the desert when it’s only 74°! It’ll be a 3-day, 2-night ride through the Valley of Death over President’s Day Weekend, leaving early Saturday, February 18th and returning on Monday, February 20th.
Expect an epic time as we bike and hike all around the most spectacular natural desolation California has to offer from dawn to dusk. We’ll take care of the great food and desserts in the desert, speedy transportation, cavernous tents, bad jokes and denk memories. You won’t want to miss this one-of-a-kind adventure.
This one’s open to everyone, provided you can ride a bike. We promise you’ll thrive with us at Death Valley!
Meet: Meet at 5.00a Saturday outside the Lyon Center.
Return: Back at USC late on Monday (approximately 6.00p).
Pre-Trip Meeting: Thursday, February 9th at 8.00p at the VKC Arches.
We’ll discuss the specifics at our mandatory pre-trip meeting.
If you have a mountain bike or know a friend who has one you can borrow, we’re happy to bring it along. We will be traveling along surface roads so mountain, road, or hybrid bikes are perfectly suitable. Beach cruisers, unfortunately, are not.
If you need to rent a bike, bike rentals will be arranged at our pre-trip meeting.
