Friday the 14th –
phew! just missed the 13th. I boarded a dream boat with the “SC Outfitters” on my way to Catalina Island. I had no idea what was in store. The ferry anchored in Two Harbors, where the wildflower covered hills kissed the deep blue sea. We threw on our backpacks and started the 6.4 mile trek to Little Harbors with Big Hopes. We saw bisons and we laughed in the bounty of nature! Haha! At Little Harbors, we set up camp and I snoozed the night away with the promise of a ‘morrow
Saturday the 15th-
“Sometimes I like to slather myself in sun tanning oil and roll around in the sand until I look like a kiwi” Rachel proclaimed as we chilled on the beach all day. By nightfall my tummy was full of peppertoni pizza and I snoozed like a baby with the sound of the ocean waves whispering in my ear.
Sunday the 16th-
Taylor galloped around camp clapping pans at 6 in the am. I stirred awake from my sea sick dreams and threw on that trusty backpack once again. We took off into the morn towards Wrigley Institute (USC’s biggest secret), where we snorkeled among the Garibaldis (look it up). Salty and full of life, we hiked back to two harbors where we boarded the ferry back to the motherland.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
Ferry rides and camping permits for the island are low-key absurdly priced and account for most of that big number you see down there. This trip is all inclusive though (transportation, food, gear) so you don’t need to spend any more money than what’s listed below!
