Difficulty: Moderate. Several short day hikes and rough/rocky terrain.
Friday: Leave from TroGro at 6pm and drive to the Trilobite Wilderness, where we will camp for the night. Eat a hearty dinner before we leave; it will be a long drive to the campsite.
Saturday: Explore the Trilobite Wilderness and search for Cambrian fossils (tools and instruction will be provided). Drive to Amboy Crater (an extinct cinder cone volcano) and explore the area. We will then drive into the Mojave National Preserve, where we will camp in the foothills of multiple seven-million-year-old extinct cinder cone volcanoes.
Sunday: Explore the many extinct volcanoes and walk inside an ancient underground lava tube. Leave for USC after lunch, and return to campus by 6:00pm.
Meet: Trojan Grounds (TroGro), 6:00pm on Friday
Return: 6:00pm on Sunday
