Difficulty: Moderate - Difficult; 12 miles round trip at elevation in one day
Get ready for THE day trip of your lives: hiking to the peak of Mt. San Jacinto. We’ll enjoy a fun tram ride taking us up the mountain to the starting point at 8500 ft, and from there, we’ll make the strenuous 6 mile ascent to the summit. The view from on top is stunning and rumor has it that on a clear day, you can see all the way to Catalina Island and even the glow of Las Vegas.
By starting our hike in the afternoon, you’ll be able to enjoy the sunset on the mountain and get that coveted Insta-Sunset pic you’ve been wanting forever (#blessed). The tram will take us back down after we’ve completed our 12 miles, and then a hearty In-n-Out dinner will be awaiting on the drive home.
Why so expensive??? Well, the tramway ticket alone costs $24, plus we’re bringing food for the hike and the trip, plus it’s 222 miles round trip. If you can drive, the cost is only $15 (including your tram ticket)!
