Start: 03/09/2013 End:03/10/2013
Activity: Music Sharing, Summit, Day Hike
Difficulty: Moderate. Basecamping is easy peasy, but we'll do a three-mile loop trail to Ryan Mountain (5,470 ft.) which is allegedly strenuous.
When Andy Dufresne plays The Marriage of Figaro over the loudspeakers of Shawshank Prison, he felt free. He let himself forget, just for a moment, that he was trapped in prison, and instead imagined himself out on the shores of Zihuatenejo, Mexico. Too often we listen to our music holed up in the terrifying confines of Leavey Library or Trojan Hall. But imagine how much better the music would be with the breeze at our back and nature sprawled out in front of us.
That’s why SC Outfitters will be running its first ever MUSIC SHARING trip. We’re taking you, YOUR MUSIC, and some portable speakers to Joshua Tree for a relaxing weekend of music in the outdoors. In between sharing music, we’re going to do a summit of Mount Ryan where we’ll look out over San Gorgonio and San Jacinto peaks. There are also many other rock formations to explore!
