4,000 ft elevation gain
First of the 6 peaks in the California 6-pack series, this majestic mountain-summiting, goat-beard-stroking adventure is a great way to get ready for the ever-nearing summer months! The peaks that make up the six pack get progressively harder— done in order they are a great way to train for the real big-time peaks such as Whitney (or to gain a 6-pack of your own (of abs, not beer)). We will start out at Chantry Flats trail head, which features donkeys, goats (see above image), and a cat. After a few miles of hiking we’ll reach a 50 FOOT WATERFALL, which will be a great opportunity to take selfies with a selfie stick and perhaps frolic in the cascading water. Pressing on, we’ll cross footbridges, find salamanders, and appreciate nature. FINALLY WE WILL SUMMIT THE EPIC SUMMIT which has telescopes and radio towers and weird cool stuff like that. WOO WOO!! Come with us!
“…climb the mountains, BAG THE PEAKS, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space.”
