“Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, Or what’s a heaven for?”
— Robert Browning
Robert Browning was a nerd. The 19th century poet took pride in a collection of rare books and was fluent in multiple languages; cause he’s a dork. This quotation comes from his poem titled Andrea del Sarto in which he theorizes about art that can portray both the body and soul at once, like a geek.
We’ll prove to Browning that a man’s grasp should match his reach using any nerd’s kryptonite; sports. Join us for a day of climbing in Angeles National Forrest where we can’t assure any ascension into the heavens, but we can certainly try. Pack a lunch and bring plenty of water. Though a fine trip for beginners, climbing is strenuous and tends to work up an appetite.
Poets are welcome, reluctantly.
