Activity: Backpacking, Ocean Frolicking
Join us on an adventure to Southern California’s best kept secret. Okay, so it’s not that secret, but it is rugged, beautiful and all ours for four days. We will be backpacking along the trans Catalina trail. We are starting in Avalon and heading towards Black Jack Campground where we will see the inner part of the island, strewn with Bison. (FUN FACT: Bison were brought to Catalina for a Hollywood Western. Over time, they evolved into their very own, slightly smaller, maybe cuter species!). From there, we will spend the next day hiking to little harbor campground then plopping ourselves on its beautiful beach. The next day is a short hike to Two Harbor Campground, which is right next to USC’s very own Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies. We will be kayaking and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters in its backyard (keep your eye out for California’s bright orange state fish, the Garibaldi).
Get to know your future USC family in the raddest setting possible! We’ll see ya on the island!
