Start: 02/15/2014 End:02/16/2014
John Muir once described San Jacinto Peak as “the most sublime spectacle to be found anywhere on this earth!” Hiking in the San Jacinto Mountain range is an incredibly unique experience. As you traverse through alpine wilderness, you get sweeping views of the desert of Palm Springs.
Join guides Austin Carter and Charlie McGrady as we attempt to summit Mount San Jacinto, the second tallest mountain in Southern California. We will be taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up to Long Valley at 8,516. From there, we will set up camp and go on a brief hike before settling down over a great meal. On Sunday morning, we will wake up early to watch the sun rise over the Palm Springs Valley and hopefully summit mid morning. This is one trip you wont want to miss!
Cost includes permits, aerial tram tickets, snow shoes (if necessary), transportation, and food.
