Difficulty: Moderate (~8 miles each day with over 4000' elevation gain)
We understand; it’s midterm season. There’s perpetually a stack of dishes in the sink and who knows when any of us last did laundry. It’s a stressful time.
Luckily for all of us, there’s a wonderful world out there that can share its beauty and quiet our minds if we let it. Join us as we venture into the wilderness and away from this fast-paced world in order to de-stress and reconnect with our inner calm before we jump in to the next round of midterms.
We’ll hike up through the forested trail from Angelus Oaks on Saturday and camp just below the summit of San Bernardino Peak that night. Sometime before bed, we’ll lead you in a guided meditation and leave time for journalling if that’s what floats your boat. If not, the lovely forest and beautiful views from our camp serve as awesome inspiration for quiet reflection.
Sunday we’ll get up and enjoy another short meditation before heading up the switchbacks to the summit (woo!!) and partaking in the glory of the peak. Then we’ll head down the mountain and aim to be back at USC by 6pm.
**Please only sign up if you will honor the reflective nature of this trip**
(It’s not a silent retreat or anything, but we want to have a quiet/peaceful vibe during the allotted meditation times.)
***It will be COLD.
