Start: 11/06/2015 End:11/09/2015
Difficulty: Very Strenuous
Possibility of snowfall, and temperatures below 32 at night
Get ready to scramble and beat everyone else to the sign ups. This is one EPIC trip you don’t want to miss. There will be loads and loads of regret when you’re laying on the couch that weekend doing work instead of teetering on the edge of a cliff surrounded by some of the most incredible views in the world.
We will be heading out at 9 am Friday morning and driving ~7 hours to Zion National Park. The rest of Friday we’ll set up camp at Watchman prepare for the next day. Saturday morning, we’ll head up to the West Rim Trail, passing through Angel’s Landing (Listed in top 20 most dangerous hikes in the world http://www.outsideonline.com/1856636/20-most-dangerous-hikes#slide-15) After reaching Angel’s Landing, we’ll continue on the West Rim Trail to reach our campsite for the night-West Rim Camp Area. On Sunday morning, we’ll wake up very early, leave camp, and hike all the way back down to our car at Watchman.
You think we’re done here and it’s time to go home, but SURPRISE SURPRISE we’re going to pay a visit to the Grand Canyon on the way back. It’s a 3-4 hour drive from Zion to the Grand Canyon, so we’re hoping to leave Zion around lunchtime and make it to the GC before sunset so we can see all the gorgeousness first hand, not through internet pictures. Sunday night, we’ll stay at a campground near the rim of the canyon. Monday morning, we’ll have time to do a short sunrise hike along the rim, or maybe just chill, and we’ll head back to SC in the morning so that we’re back on campus by 6pm.
Ok now that you’ve spent all this time reading, quickly quickly sign up before the spots are filled!!!!!!!
