Activity: working on restoring some natural wetlands
Difficulty: easy peasy, just get ready to get dirty!
We will be gettin down and dirty in the Ballona Wetlands, helping to remove invasive species and get rid of trash that piles up there and affects entire ecosystems! Wetlands are a vital part of many ecosystems, and the Ballona Wetlands are a fueling source for birds, a nursery for young fish, a water filtration system, a flood buffer for local communities, an air purifier, and home to tons of animals and plants. They can’t function without our help keeping them clean due to the waste that often gets dumped in them, and the effects of environmental pollutants. Our impact is so important, and its always fun to spend a day by the water and using your hands! We’ll stop for some dank tacos on the way home, and it’ll be a pretty short day, ending at 1 so you can still go do your homework/enjoy your sunday. Also it’s FREE as long as you show up! (You will be refunded the 10 dollars you pay to ensure you come on the day of).
