Activity: Wilderness First Aid Course
SC Outfitters is proud to sponsor Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training at Camp Max Straus by instructors from the Wilderness Medical Institute from NOLS.
Fast paced and hands-on, this two-day course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel in the outdoors. Whether spending time in the backcountry is your passion or your profession, you should never have to ask, “What do I do now?”. On this course, you’ll learn how to prepare for the unexpected. In just two days, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. This course is ideal for travelers, trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals in remote locations. This course does not include CPR certification.
The course will be hosted at Camp Max Straus in Glendale, CA from February 4 – February 5. This course will cost $200, which will include course tuition, food, transportation and lodging for the weekend. A typical WFA course costs $225 for tuition only, and upwards of $400 when you factor in transportation, food, and lodging. Thanks to a partnership with USG, we are able to offer this course this super low price to USC students. Don’t miss this opportunity to get your WFA!
Your student guides will be taking this course, and we will be opening up the remaining spots in the course to you – our fellow students and SC Outfitters. Registration for this course is on a first-come, first-served basis, sign-up below via Paypal (credit card required).
Space is limited, there are approximately 15 spots available.
