We have a ton of fun activities planned, ranging from snorkeling in pristine waters to backpacking in Haleakala, where you’ll see the best sunrises you’ve ever seen. For a more detailed outline of our itinerary and trip logistics, please read below!

Please also note that this trip requires an application (its link is at the bottom of the page), so please be sure to read this page in its entirety before continuing to that. ITINERARY:

Embark on a seven-day journey to the enchanting island of Maui with guides Hayden & Isaac! Our journey unfolds from Friday, 3/8 to Thursday, 3/14, promising a host of unforgettable experiences. Our adventure commences on Day 1 as we set up camp at the serene Camp Olowalu. Nestled beside the ocean, the camp offers us a tranquil haven, providing the perfect backdrop for exploration in the Olowalu area and a chill afternoon on beautiful beaches.

On Day 2, we’ll start with some snorkeling in the Olowalu area, where we can hopefully dive among some gorgeous reefs and see some incredible wildlife! Later, we will do a short but gorgeous hike along the Iao Needle Trail that introduces us to Maui's lush greenery, foreshadowing the natural wonders that lie ahead.

Day 3 marks the start of our 3 day backpacking trip through Haleakala National Park. Commencing on the Sliding Sands Trail, each step reveals the raw beauty of volcanic landscapes, leading us to the serene Paliku campground, where we set up camp beneath the gorgeous sky and stargaze.

Continuing on Day 4, our expedition unfolds towards the volcanic craters and Holua Campgrounds, where rugged charm blends seamlessly with some crazy sick scenery of the surrounding craters and mountains. As Day 5 dawns, we bid farewell to our backpacking adventure, driving towards the picturesque area of Hana on Maui's east coast.

On day 6 we’ll go on a lil’ 4-ish mile hike to Waimoku Falls in Hana, where we get to walk through some lush jungle and a bamboo forest! And for the rest of the day, we’re gonna leave the activities up to a group decision! Not all of your vacation can be dictated by us 🙄 (well…it can, but we would like for you guys to have some decision in it too).

On Day 7…we fly back to USC :(

BUT it will have been the best week of your life, with some awesome activities, memories, and people (and hopefully guides).

LOGISTICS (some very important info):

In addition to telling all of you about the jaw-dropping activities we’ll be doing, there is some logistical info we’d like to share so that all of you are aware of how this trip is gonna run!

Firstly, some concrete dates:

- We will be flying out of LA on Friday, March 8th (hopefully sometime in the morning). Our first day in Maui will consist of getting a rental van, picking up food/supplies for the trip, and then getting into our activities on the itinerary!

- We will be flying back to LA on Thursday, March 14th (time is still TBD).

Secondly:

- There will be multiple mandatory pre-trip meetings! The first one will simply be going over some more logistics and booking plane tickets, and any future meetings will concern more preparation for the trip.

Thirdly:

- If you didn’t see this detail outlined above - PLANE TICKETS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE TRIP COST. The trip cost covers everything but the plane tickets - rental car, camping permits/reservations, food, as well as all of the activities we’ll be doing!

Fourthly:

- A portion of the trip price includes a donation to the Maui Mutual Aid Fund. In the wake of the wildfires that occurred last summer, we want to give as much respect to the local communities as we can, and we figured an included donation would be our best way of doing so. Additionally, we will be avoiding the affected areas (such as Lahaina and much of the west coast of the island) in order to respect the locals and their rebuilding efforts. So, with this in mind, please note that a portion of the trip cost you pay will be given to this charity in order to support those who were affected by the fires.

Information on the selected charity can be found here: Maui Mutual Aid Fund

Finally:

- Everything about this trip is subject to change. As much as we want our itinerary to stay the way it is, there is always a possibility that changes in flights, weather, or other issues could throw a wrench into what we have planned. We will make this the best trip possible regardless of the situation, but please acknowledge that what is currently on this trip page may not reflect what happens during the actual trip.

Aaaaand that’s all for now! If you have any questions, please feel free to email either of us!
