Work on your abs on this certified classic hike up Mt Wilson, a challenging and beautiful hike that ends at a historic observatory! Be prepared for mega views and a killer workout, as this trail covers nearly 5000 ft of elevation gain/loss over 15 miles, making it an extremely challenging (and therefore extremely rewarding) adventure. This hike is part of the SoCal Six-Pack of Peaks, a hiking challenge that ascends the 6 tallest mountains within a few hours of LA, so we’ll be working on our six-packs as we take on the “easiest” peak in the series! This is the fourth hike we have led as part of the Six-Pack, so we hope to welcome back those who return as well as new hikers to the challenge. We’ll start at the Little Santa Anita Canyon trailhead and head up to the summit to enjoy a provided lunch while taking in epic views of the surrounding mountains / Los Angeles and feeling very good about ourselves for making it to the top. If there’s interest, we will also walk around the Mt. Wilson observatory at the top, which has some very large historic telescopes.
