What does it mean to be a participant Driver?
Interested in being a participant driver?
Here is everything you need to know.
A participant driver is a student that signs up for a SC Outfitters trip and offers to drive other participants on the trip in their vehicle.
To be a participant driver on one of our trips, you will first purchase a reserved participant driver ticket*. By purchasing this ticket, you are committing to the trip and agreeing to drive other participants. To thank you, we heavily discount the trip ticket price and fully reimburse all gas expenses.
Guides pay for participant driver gas. If you are driving for a trip, you must show up with a full tank of gas, and make sure that your guide fills it for you at the conclusion of the trip.
So if you have a clean driving record, a 5-seater car on campus, and a playlist that slaps (optional but highly appreciated), we want you! Thank you in advance for offering to drive and for helping to get people outside! (Cars should be fully equipped with seatbelts)
*Some trips do require vehicles that must be able to handle difficult road conditions (4 Wheel Drive). Therefore, guides reserve the right to choose drivers based on vehicle capabilities if needed.
