BASECAMP: Hot Springs Hangout

Do you like large scale floral blooms? How about sleeping out under the stars at basecamp? Perhaps you fancy taking a relaxing dip in a geothermal hot spring?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you’re in the right place! We’re taking a chill approach to basecamp this year: frolicking in the poppy fields of Antelope Valley, stargazing with the SCO community at basecamp, and spending all day Sunday hiking and soaking up in a natural Santa Barbara hot spring. The hike will be moderate but please be prepared to hike back at night. We plan to arrive back on campus late Sunday night. 

What to Bring:

•  mess kit (plate/bowl and utensil)

• sleeping bag

• sleeping pad

• headlamp

• bathing suit

• towel

• day pack (backpack)

• hiking shoes (athletic shoes are fine)

• layers for warmth at night

• 2L water capacity (soaking tends to dehydrate people) 

• toilet kit

• camera (A+ photo opportunities everywhere we go!)

• your fav playlist loaded and ready for the drive
