The sun is setting on the SCO Republic as Halo and Caroline lead one of their last trips with the club, heading into the Ides of March (graduation). After a long reign as Caesars of the republic (very old guides) who lead gladiators (you) into battle in the reaches of the Roman Republic (California), the guides are prepared to take their last stand in Sisar Canyon. We will leave Rome (USC Village) bright and early at 7:30am Saturday to march 5.5 miles into Ojai’s Sisar Canyon, to conquer a picturesque land that winds through woods and provides strategic (pretty) views of the surrounding valley.

From there, we will travel to a meeting of the Senate (Basecamp!), where we will meet up with four other parties for a night of fun and gladiator entertainment with all the other senators — you’ll watch our backs though, right? We’ll prepare a feast worthy of emperors, impress the others with our gladiatorial skills, and sleep under the stars. The next morning will see us enjoy a very traditional Roman breakfast (pancakes) before heading back to campus. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???

*disclaimer we have not seen the Paul Mescal Gladiator movie, only the OG with Russell Crowe. Also, our Roman knowledge doesn’t extend beyond the Percy Jackson books from middle school.
