Baddies + Bats = Batties! Fly away with us to Big Sur on this 10 mile β€œbat-packing” trip. Meet us on Friday afternoon after class to drive along the Pacific Coast Highway and car camp above SLO with beautiful opportunities for star-gazing. Caroline and Jordyn will gourmand a meal on Friday night before getting a good night’s sleep (upside down, like a bat), and heading out to Vicente Flat Trailhead in Big Sur on Saturday morning. There, we will backpack for about 5 miles, stopping for lunch with views of the coast. We will hike to our final campsite where we will eat another divine meal, tell scary stories, and have a costume pageant under the canopy of the Coastal Redwoods. Sunday morning, we will hike back down to the cars and arrive back at campus around 7:00 pm (possibly earlier), and say goodbye to our fellow batties.

Backpacking experience would be helpful as there is a good bit of elevation gain / uphill hiking, but not required. If this is your first time, we will show you everything you need to know and answer any questions you may have. We highly recommend wearing LONG PANTS to hike in, as the trail has poison oak along the sides in some parts.
